Privacy Policy

Surrender ("we", "our", or "us") is a personal emotional-release practice app. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that information. We keep this simple because we collect very little.

1. Information We Collect

We collect only what is necessary to provide the app's core features:

• Email address — used to create and authenticate your account via a one-time passcode (OTP). We never receive or store a password.
• First name — optional display name you choose during onboarding. Stored locally on your device and in your account record.
• Session history — the emotions, body region, breathing pattern, and after-feel you log at the end of each surrender practice. This data is tied to your account so it persists across devices.

We do not collect location data, contact lists, camera or microphone access, advertising identifiers, or any financial information.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To authenticate you and keep your session active.
• To store and display your practice history within the app.
• To personalise the in-app greeting with your name.

We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or any automated decision-making.

3. Data Storage

Your account and history data are stored on Supabase, a hosted Postgres database service. Data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest. Supabase's data infrastructure is located in the United States. By using the app you consent to this transfer.

Your name, email, and onboarding completion status are also cached on your device using Apple's UserDefaults so the app loads faster. This local cache is cleared when you sign out.

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to any third party.

We rely on the following sub-processors to operate the service:

• Supabase, Inc. — database and authentication provider.
• Apple, Inc. — app delivery via the App Store and on-device notification delivery via APNs.

We may disclose your information if required to do so by law or in response to a valid legal request.

5. Encryption

The app uses only standard HTTPS/TLS encryption provided by iOS and Supabase. It does not implement any proprietary or non-exempt encryption.

6. Children's Privacy

Surrender is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with their information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

7. Your Rights and Choices

• Access & correction — you can update your name at any time in the app's Settings screen.
• Deletion — you can delete all your history from the Settings screen ("Delete history"). To delete your account entirely, email us at the address below.
• Sign out — signing out clears the local cache on your device immediately.

8. Data Retention

We retain your account and history data for as long as your account exists. When you request account deletion we will remove your data within 30 days.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by updating the effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
